Dress Code

As part of our continued effort to uphold the standards and atmosphere of the University Club, we kindly remind all members and their guests to observe the Club’s Dress Code and Electronics Policy when visiting. The University Club maintains a professional yet relaxed environment, and appropriate attire and etiquette help ensure a welcoming and respectful experience for all.

General Attire: Business Casual
All members and their guests are expected to be dressed in business casual attire while visiting the Clubhouse.

Acceptable:
– Slacks, khaki pants, skirts, and dresses
– Jackets are requested but not required in the Providence Room

Not Permitted:
– Shorts (including khaki and cargo shorts)
– Sweatpants
– Hats (indoors or in dining areas)
– Ripped, torn, frayed, or excessively faded jeans

Shirts must be tucked in while inside the Clubhouse. Hats must be removed when entering the dining areas or parlor.
DENIM POLICY
Tasteful and properly fitting denim is permitted in the Clubhouse, provided the following conditions are met:

– Frayed or cutoff jeans are not permitted
– Excessively faded, worn, or dyed jeans are not permitted
– Low-rise jeans are not permitted
– Jeans must be of a consistent, solid color
ELECTRONICS POLICY
To preserve the Club’s refined and conversational setting, the use of electronic devices is restricted as follows:

Members and guests are asked to silence their devices upon entering the Club. If a call must be taken, we respectfully ask that it be done outside or in the designated phone closet.
